Most visitors to Ocracoke must take one of three ferry routes. If you're arriving from points north, take the toll-free Hatteras Ferry (for schedule information call 800-368-8949). From points west take the Swan Quarter Ferry (800-773-1094), points south the Cedar Island Ferry (800-856-0343). The Cedar Island and Swan Quarter are toll ferries and reservations are recommended. 

For those who fly, Ocracoke has a 3000-ft. airstrip one mile from the village. 

To get to Crews Inn from the Hatteras Ferry, drive 13 miles down Highway 12 until you leave the national seashore at the edge of the village. Continue one-half mile, passing The Pony Island Motel, then turn right on BACK ROAD. Follow this road another half-mile, then look on the left for the Crews Inn sign and turn down the driveway.

From the Cedar Island and Swan Quarter ferries, turn right onto Highway 12, go 2/10 of a mile, turn left on BRITISH CEMETRY ROAD at The Anchorage Inn, go 1/10 of a mile, turn right on BACK ROAD, then look on the right for the Crews Inn sign and turn down the driveway.
